Thimphu is the capital city of Bhutan. It is located at 55 kilometers from the Paro International Airport, approximately at an altitude of 2320m above the sea level. Today, Thimphu is one of the most developed and crowded towns in Bhutan. In 2015, according to the National Census of Bhutan’s finding, Thimphu has population over 104000 out of little more than 700000 population of whole Bhutan. Thimphu became capital of Bhutan in 1961. And since then Thimphu has been on constant development and growth. Thimphu is the centre where most of the important administrative work of Bhutan is taking place, including the important decision. Thimphu today is the home to monarchs of Bhutan and also the summer residence of centralmonk body.
