This cultural tour explores the wonderfully diverse environment of Bhutan’s western valleys as well as their cultural heritage. Drive over high mountain passes and through rapidly changing vegetation from pine forests to hills covered in rhododendrons, magnolias and dwarf bamboo – abundant with birds and wildlife. This tour also visits ancient fortresses, temples, monasteries, farm houses and museums, National Memorial Chorten of Paro, Thimphu, Punakha and Haa valley.

DAY 01: ARRIVAL TO PARO AND TRANSFER TO THIMPHU
As you land at the Paro International Airport, Bhutan Life Exposure Tours and Trek guide for your group will welcome you to the Kingdom of Bhutan from the exit gate of airport. Then, you will be transferred to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan, which is located some 55 kilometers from the Paro. The 90 minutes journey will take you through the beautiful Bhutanese settlement along the way, while also offering the beautiful view of Bhutan’s landscape.
Upon you arrival at Thimphu, You will visit Buddha Point, where the world largest statue of Buddha is standing overlooking the Thimphu Town below. Next you will visit Memorial Chorten; the stupa built in the memory of Late His Majesty, the Third King of Bhutan. Towards the evening, you will visit Tashichoedzong, the fortress of glorious. Tashichoedzong is beautiful located towards the north of Thimphu, along the Thimphu Chu. The fortress is one of the most significant as it houses the office of His Majesty, the King of Bhutan and the central monastic body of Bhutan. Then, you will check into hotel for the rest and night hold.
DAY 02: THIMPHU – PUNAKHA
After breakfast, you will depart Thimphu for the Punakha. After breakfast, you will depart Thimphu for Punakha. Punakha is located some 75 kilometers from Thimphu. On your first hour journey, you will reach at the most beautiful pass of Bhutan – Dochula. Dochula is surrounded by the 108 stupas and were built in the memory of His Majesty, the Fourth King of Bhutan and the Royal Bhutan Army. During the clear day, the view of various mountain ranges at distance is clear and beautiful.
Then, you will proceed to visit Chimi Lhakhang, which is located at the Lobesa. Chimi Lhakhang is one of the most revered temples in Bhutan as it is closely associated with the Lama Drukpa Kuenley. Today, the couples who cannot bear child seek the blessing from the temple for the child.
Then, you will proceed to visit the Ritsa Village, where you will get close contact with the real and authentic Bhutanese traditional villages and their life styles. You will eat the local lunch at the villager’s house to experience the various Bhutanese cultural aspects at family level. In the afternoon, you will visit Punakha Dzong, one of the most beautiful Dzongs, uniquely located in the middle of two rivers – Phochu and Mochu. Punakha Dzong was built by the Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel and is regarded as the finest architectural piece in Bhutan. In the evening, you will visit the Bhutan’s longest bridge, where you will enjoy in the relaxing evening breeze while enjoying the view of nearby settlement. Towards the evening, you will visit the longest bridge of Bhutan. The suspension bridge is one of the places of interest as it offers the good view of villages around and also, it has very breezy atmosphere relaxation toward the evening.
DAY 03: PUNAKHA – PARO
After breakfast, you will make your return journey to Paro via Thimphu. On the way, you will stop at several places of interest for photography and also to catch the view. On arrival at Thimphu, you will visit Bhutan National Post office, from where you can customize stamp out of your own photo. After that, you will proceed to Paro. Upon arrival at Paro, you will visit two of the most important places of visit in Paro.First, you will visit National Museum of Bhutan. The museum of Bhutan is uniquely shaped building, originally built as watch tower and later converted into Museum. It has some of the most significant national relics and artifacts on display for the visitors.
Then, you will visit Paro Dzong, which has some of the best wall paintings of the life of Jetsuen Milarepa. Paro Dzong is regarded as one of the best architectural structure of Bhutan. Then, you will take a stone path leading to the traditional bridge. On arrival at suspension bridge, you will enjoy for some time, before continuing to visit the vegetable market, where farmers bring their local products for sale.
DAY 04: PARO (HIKE TO PARO TAKTSHANG)
After early morning breakfast, you will depart to Paro to hike to Paro Taktshang, the only temple in the world, hanging on the cliff by the sheer force of faith. “Trip to Bhutan is never complete without climbing to Taktsang”, says one tourist. Indeed it’s true as the journey there fills you with spiritual bliss. It is located atop an 800 meter cliff. The climb up to the viewpoint will take around 1 ½ hours and from there you will enjoy a spectacular view of the monastery clinging to the side of the cliff. Then walk further up to the monastery which will take another 1 ½ hour. It is said that in the 8th century Guru Rinpoche flew on the back of a tigress from eastern Bhutan to this place and meditated in a cave here for 3 months.
On return, you will visit the Kichu Lhakhang; one of the renowned temples built by the Tibetan King Songtsen Gyembo along with other 108 temples in a single night, to bring down the power of evil spirit existed around Himalaya. Then, you will visit the Dungtse Lhakhang, the three storied temple located across the river. The three storied represents the three realms of this samsara. Later, you will have free time to stroll around the Paro Town. In the evening, you will gather for farewell dinner and it will be accompany by the cultural performaces by the professional cultural group.
